What’s the Scoop? Here’s where you’ll find out.

Congratulations to Shannon Ketcheson and Mike Baker. They recently tied the knot in Salem VA where they operate Baker Performance Horses. With the training, lessons and judging, Shannon and Mike are a busy couple.

Avalon Appaloosas of Goodland Manitoba and 4M Performance Horses congratulate Sandra Landry on the purchase of Ima Patriot Doc, 3X National Champion stallion.

Kudos to the Provincial Show Staff! ApHCC Office has forwarded some kind words they received from Joe Carter, one of the judges of the 2008 Provincial Show. He mentioned that he didn’t get to judge many Canadian Appaloosa shows but this show was definitely worth mentioning. The show was well run, went smoothly and the people, particularly “the lady” who ran it, were especially nice to deal with, had pleasant and positive attitudes. Thanks Joe and we all appreciate our staff too! Thanks to everyone who pitched in at this show!

The 2009 Provincial Championships will be held on September 26 & 27. Please note this change is to avoid as many conflict with other shows and events as possible.

Congratulations to the UOAHC STALLION SHOWCASE winning stallions and weanlings for our first showing for the program. I would like to congratulate ONE HOT PRINCIPLE owned by Hugh Atfield and Kathy Mckenna and his weanling entry HOT ZILLA owned by Marie Henderson in the colt class and REAL FAPPI owned by Sandra Landry and his weanling entry (RILEY) owned by Sandra Landry. Thank you for your support in this initial venture. I would also like to thank the other stallion owners who supported this venture in its initial year. Thank you to Daina Hunter (HMH STEPPINWOLF & GLOWING JOE) and also Lantz McLaren (IMPRESS EM).

I believe that this was a good start for a new program and hope that you will continue to support the program for many years to come. I believe that this will grow in popularity in the next few years from the interest I have recieved since the show in September 2008.

Thanks for your support. Wayne Stickwood (UOAHC stallion showcase co-ordinator)
